ABOUT US - Biography for Erica Sparhawk
As owner of EnergyWise Building Solutions, Erica rolls her experiences together to provide consulting which optimizes energy efficient and sustainable design in buildings. Erica is a Resnet accredited HERS rater and Northwest Energy Star for Homes verifier.
Erica was one of the project managers for Montana's first LEED Platinum building, Northern Plains Resource Council’s "Home on the Range."
Erica has also taken courses in sustainable home design, solar thermal and radiant heating systems, and strawbale construction from Solar Energy International. Erica's building experience comes from remodeling her own home with her family and working on a framing crew Kemmick Construction in Billings, MT. Erica started EnergyWise Building Solutions with the ultimate goal of helping builders build better, more efficient homes and to assist home owners to upgrade their existing homes to make them more energy efficient.
Erica is a native of Western Colorado and moved to Billings in 2001 for a job with Northern Plains Resource Council as a fundraiser. She is now a member of Northern Plains Resource Council and is active in the Billings community by serving on the board of Good Earth Market and is treasurer of her neighborhood Task Force. Erica has studied and worked in New Zealand, Mexico, Peru and Chile. She has a BA from Colorado State University in Political Science and a minor in Economics. Erica currently lives in Billings with her husband Ryan and their young daughter.
